Nero 9 Free Version is a scaled down version of Nero, that offers some of the most basic CD/DVD burning features for free. It allows you to burn simple data dics (no audio or video) and create copies of unprotected discs.

We were not impressed with the features, the software may be free and carries a big brand name, but  wefound it to be inferior to most other free burning products out there, very limited in features.

Hot on the heels of the Acer Group bundling Nero 9 Essentials on all desktop systems sold globally, Nero have now announced Nero 9 – Free version.

The Nero 9 – Free includes data disc burning (CD/DVD) and disc copying, and has basic functionality and introduces users to the full Nero 9 suite. Best of all, there is no time limitation on the use of this free version and the only caveat is that registration if required.
